Fit
How a bra should actually fit

A bra that fits well disappears. You forget it's there. If you find yourself adjusting straps, tugging the band, or counting the minutes until you get home — it isn't the right one.
Here are five signs to look for, and what each one means.
One. The band rides up your back. The band should sit level, parallel to the floor. If it slides up between your shoulder blades, the band is too loose. Try one band size smaller and one cup size larger (this keeps the total volume the same).
Two. The straps dig into your shoulders. Straps are for lifting, never for carrying. If you're getting red marks at the end of the day, the band is doing too little of the work. Drop a band size and adjust the strap so two fingers slip easily underneath.
Three. The cup gapes. If there's a gap between the cup and your skin at the top, the cup is too big. Go down one cup size while keeping the same band.
Four. The cup spills. The opposite of gaping. If your bust spills over the edge or your skin marks at the wire, the cup is too small. Go up one cup size.
Five. The wire pokes or sits on bust tissue. The wire should rest flat against the ribcage, framing the bust — not on it. If it pokes, the cup is too small or the style is too narrow. If you prefer no wire at all, a wireless piece does the same job, gently.
When in doubt, use the size guide on this site, or message us privately. We'd rather help you find the right piece than sell you the wrong one.
